Distillerie Baron collects white grape seeds; a by-product of wine production in Nantes vineyards, where Melon de Bourgogne, Chardonnay and Sauvignon varieties are grown.
White grape seeds have several uses.
During the harvest period, grape seeds rich in polyphenols are extracted from the fresh grape marc of Melon de Bourgogne, Chardonnay and Sauvignon varieties grown in the Nantes region. Polyphenols are natural antioxidants found in grape seeds. They are used in the pharmaceutical, para-pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
Seeds are separated after distillation, then dried before being sent for extraction at the oil mill.
